A Visit that Marked a Turning Point
In October 2025, the Academy and its surrounding initiatives drew national attention when Vice President Lucia Witbooi paid a visit to Maltahöhe, accompanied by Hardap Governor Riaan Charles McNab.
The Vice President’s presence was more than ceremonial — it was deeply personal. Having once taught in Maltahöhe and hailing from nearby Gibeon, her return carried a profound sense of homecoming. Walking the grounds, engaging with farmers, youth trainees, and women entrepreneurs, she witnessed first-hand how the seeds of Namibia’s rural future are being sown — one skill, one enterprise, one idea at a time.

Her visit underscored the growing alignment between grassroots initiatives like Rural Revive and the national development agenda under President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, particularly the call for food self-sufficiency, local production, and youth-driven development. The message was clear: Maltahöhe is not a forgotten town; it is becoming a model for what inclusive, locally-rooted progress looks like.
This is the inspiration behind the 3 year strategy towards additonal course accreditation for Horticulture and Facility Maintenance.
